ECO 4 Grants
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO), is a government energy efficiency scheme for Great Britain, administered by Ofgem.
This scheme is now in its 4th phase and is intended to run from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2026 aiming to UK homes more energy efficient and tackles fuel poverty. One route that can be used to identify these households is ‘ECO4 Flexibility’ (ECO4 Flex). Under ECO4 Flex, a participating Local Authority, can refer private tenure households that it considers to be living in fuel poverty or on a low income and vulnerable to the effects of living in a cold home.

Air Source Heat Pump Central Heating
High Impact Electric Storage Heaters
Efficent Gas Central Heating Systems
Internal Wall Insulation
Cavity Wall Insulation
Room in the Roof Insulation


Qualifying Benefits
In ECO4 there has a been a reshuffle of eligible benefits. Please find below the updated list:
- Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
- Income related Employment & Support Allowance
- Income Support
- Pension Credit Guarantee
- Pension Credit Savings
- Housing Benefit
- Working Tax Credit
- Child Tax Credit
- Universal Credit
- Earning based child benefit
But the good news is – YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE ON BENEFITS TO RECEIVE THE GRANT. The other criteria being – YOUR HOUSEHOLD INCOME NEEDS TO BE LESS THAN £31,000 gross year or suffer ill health (applicable in flex areas only)
